Reducing Interactive Refactoring Effort via Clustering-Based Multi-Objective Search
Published in: 2018 33rd IEEE/ACM International Conference on Automated Software Engineering (ASE)
Interactive refactoring tools ask developers to evaluate large sets of candidate solutions, and that review effort is often what stops teams from adopting them. This work combines multi-objective search with clustering over the resulting solutions, so a developer inspects a small set of representative options instead of the full population.
